Privacy policy
In short
Motxilla runs entirely on your phone. We have no server and no database of our own, so we never receive your messages, your children's information or your credentials. There is no analytics, no tracking and no advertising in the app.
Who we are
Motxilla is a project by Santi Corrales, an independent developer. It is not affiliated with Clickedu, BatOnRoute or any school. You can reach us at hola@motxilla.app.
What the app handles
- Your school sign-in. Your session is kept in your phone's secure storage (iOS Keychain or Android Keystore). The password is not stored.
- School data you open: chats, messages, profile, timetables and similar. It is saved on your phone so the app works offline. Signing out removes it.
- Photos, videos and files you choose to send to the school. The app asks permission for the camera, microphone and photo library, only when you use them. Saving a photo to your library only adds to it; the app never reads your library.
Who the app talks to
Your data goes only to the services below, and only as described.
- Your school's platform (for example Clickedu): to sign in and fetch or send what you ask for. Its own privacy terms apply to that data.
- Your school bus service (BatOnRoute), only if you link it: to show your child's route and the bus.
- Mozilla: if you ask for translations, the app downloads translation language files from Mozilla's servers. No message, account or school data is sent; the translation happens on your phone.
- Apple Maps: the bus map is drawn by your phone's maps, which see the area shown on the map but no account or school data.
- Expo (EAS Update): the app checks for app updates. This request carries the app's identifier, version and platform, and, as with any internet request, your IP address. No account or school data is included.
Notifications
Notifications are produced by checks your phone makes itself. There is no push service and no device token is sent anywhere.
Children
Motxilla is meant for parents and guardians, not for children to use on their own. It shows what the school already shares with your family and does not collect information about children for us.
Keeping and deleting your data
All data is on your phone. Signing out of a school account or deleting the app removes it. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing for us to delete on our side. For data held by your school, contact the school.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask your school to access, correct or delete the data it holds about you. For anything about this app, write to hola@motxilla.app.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its date.
